Lucerne
Had a great run down to Lucerne, Switzerland, via Metz in France. French roads are the best. They're empty, wide and fast, probably because you have to pay to use 'em. That and on weekends, no trucks allowed. In addition, the rest stops/ motorway services are calm, civilized places, unlike the often crowded Brit. shrines to consumption that are now the norm.
All in all, the drive was (despite the miles), a relaxing way to end the very successful UK tour and time to reflect on the achievements of the last month; an inspiring new DVD, a great new revamped website, a productive recording session, some good and enjoyable radio interviews, the planning and kitting out of our new recording studio, catching up with former band members, guest appearances, Scotland, Wales, the West Country, autumn...you get the picture.
Lucerne, and then across Lake Constance to the small town of Fischbach, near Friedrichshafen where we had a great last show, despite the Skeatster catching an eye infection. We all bade our adieus and set off for our various abodes for a 10 day break before another UK recording session which should yield some interesting results. Thanks to everyone who made the going great and helped us on our way. Now I'm going to relax some and catch up with family.
Cheers ~ A.P.
