Joe Crabtree

Drummer JOE CRABTREE is Wishbone Ash’s newest member, having replaced Ray Weston in February 2007. Performing in an impressive range of contexts over the past 20 years, Joe is a powerhouse player who excels in most major styles of drumming, from progressive rock to jazz.

A native of Burnley, U.K., Joe moved to London in 2004 in order to become a full-time drummer. His credits include the David Cross band and Pendragon (with whom he still performs and records). Joe also holds a degree in physics from Durham University.

Prior to joining Wishbone Ash, Joe taught at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford, U.K.

Joe spends much of his time developing iPhone apps for musicians. The latest, PolyNome, represents a quantum leap in metronome technology. PolyNome elevates a standard practice tool to a level of unprecedented sophistication, allowing users to save their work, keep track of practices, create playlists and tag presets. Visit http://PolyNome.net/ to learn more.

Joe plays Sonor Drums, Vic Firth Sticks, Porter And Davies thrones, Sensaphonics IEM and Zildjian cymbals.

Enthusiastic about sharing his passion for and knowledge of drumming, Joe offers online drum lessons on his website, www.joecrabtree.com.
